Me? Creative?

Me? Creative?

By Kathy Sanders, Director – Strategic Resources and Projects

I’ve just finished working through a message Ray Hughes gave in Houston in 2011. I find it so interesting that what was said to us 12 years ago is so much easier to understand today because, as God has moved us forward, He has built into us so many things that we didn’t have the capacity to receive the full revelation in 2011. You might say that some of what Ray was saying was a mystery to us.

I titled the message, “The Power of Creativity Through God’s People,” and I highlighted 20 keys – statements worth taking note of. I’d like to share a few of the statements in hopes that you will be intrigued by them and go read through the message for your own instruction and understanding.

As we move into each new day, we know that God has placed things back in our history that we need to carry forward with us. Remember Dutch Sheets talking about David’s staff and how David carved his history with God into that staff. When David faced a challenge, he could always look at his history of who God had been for him and KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that God would not fail him.

We have a great advantage because of Holy Spirit. He is not only our Teacher, but He also brings things to our remembrance. Maybe we don’t have a physical staff with our history carved that we carry around daily, but we have Holy Spirit who can bring up that history, and we can apply it to the situation facing us. I love that! I have found on my personal journey that Holy Spirit has made me smarter than the actual experience I have. What an advantage to us He is.

Here are a couple of the keys I saw in Ray’s message:

  • God created us to be creative.
  • Any time man becomes more position-oriented than he is Presence of God-oriented, there is going to be a breach.
  • We are created as an image-bearing, worshipping force to invade the nations of the earth and redeem the sound back to a place of worship, back unto the Throne of God.
  • When we value what God has done, we will see what God will do.
  • We are a people raised up for this time who are not afraid of the sound that is being released through us.

I hope I’ve shared enough of the 20 keys with you that you will go look. Below are links to the message and keys. The keys are also within the message.

One important point to know is that within the message, Ray connects revivals of the past with the creative release that came forward. Sometimes it was a sound, a song. Other times, a dance, a poem, a painting.

It is a great joy to fill in messages that didn’t get transcribed in the past. It is like putting in a piece of a puzzle that more fully fills in the picture of who God has made His people in the earth. Have fun seeing who God has created you to be in the earth for His Glory!
