Aglow International is committed to helping people be prepared for emergency situations that occur at inopportune times and with little or no warning. We provide informational resources and are building a network of Aglow women and men trained to be on the front lines when disasters strike.

General Resources

  • American Red Cross
    Wealth of information on preparation for all types of disasters and materials for education children and adults about disasters. Additional information on local chapters.
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
    Extensive information and includes hazard maps, general preparedness and prevention information, facts on each of the hazards and detailed lists of free publications. They also provide training materials and programs across the country.
  • U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
    The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
  • Ready America
    Information on making a disaster preparedness kit, making a disaster plan, and general information on disaster readiness.
  • U.S. Geological Survey
    Includes information for the general public on earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes, hurricanes and other natural hazards.
