Recently, Nancy McDaniel was speaking to a congregation, and I had the joy of listening in through webcast. She referred to a circumstance that took place suddenly. Out of the clear blue, it landed, and one moment she was okay and the next moment she wasn’t. She prefaced her story by saying that she is not one who thinks that everything that happens is from the enemy.
Nancy shared in a recent post about a thought she was pondering. The thought came from a longtime friend of Aglow and speaker, Graham Cooke. Graham, at the time, was relaying the story of David and Goliath.
One of the beautiful Core Values of Aglow International is Freedom — “Standing firm against everything that enslaves” (Galatians 5:1). This value doesn’t just sit on a page; it moves us. It compels us to open our eyes to injustice, to lift our voices in prayer, and to believe boldly that every person held captive—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—can be restored to wholeness.
While there are different interpretations of ‘lift up a standard,’ just picture this with me for a moment! What if the standard is the Lord’s banner – His flag to claim and mark His territory in the earth? And what if that banner is us?
Thank You that You are the answer to whatever they are going through personally and in their nations.
At times, we’ve said in Aglow that “we build the fire truck on the way to the fire.” When a problem or opportunity arose, we would rush towards it and figure out what to do along the way. And then somehow, God has always brought it all together. He has been faithful to Aglow in this way just as we have been faithful to show up and to respond to the needs of the world we serve. Recently, she shared a different picture of how God will lead us in this New Era. Her words to us are that “We have been given an engine; Now we will build the airplane around it!”
Prophesy to your nation: “MY NATION ___________IS COMING INTO THE GLORY OF THE LORD!” Prophesy this into the darkness that encroaches upon your nation! Speak to the darkness!
There is a one-word prayer rising in my spirit in this hour — a word that is both a cry for help and a shout of victory. That word is: Hosanna!
This is not simply a passing moment. This is a Kingdom movement. This is revival. This is harvest.
At His Word, the power of sin, disease, curses, death – ALL darkness was broken once and for all time. At His Word, we were redeemed, delivered, and healed.
