Light the Nations
Did you know that even today, there are still hundreds of people groups who have never heard the glorious gospel of eternal life through Jesus Christ? That reality is both sobering and deeply stirring. While many of these unreached communities are found in the Middle East, they are also scattered across nations around the world—people who have yet to encounter the transforming Light and Love of Jesus. That amazes me!
When I pause to truly consider it, my heart is moved with renewed compassion, passion, and urgency. It compels me to pray with greater fervency and to ask, “Lord, what can I do?” How can we, together, ensure that every person has the opportunity to hear the Good News?
I’ve had the privilege of meeting with other ministry leaders who feel this same burden and calling. There is a shared fire among us—a deep longing to see the Light of Jesus shine into every nation and every people group still waiting to hear. Out of those conversations, something beautiful has been born.
Together, we have launched Light the Nations—a unified movement of prayer centered on taking the gospel to everyone, everywhere, until all have heard. You have been hearing about this for several months in the Global Prayer Targets.
My dear Aglow friends, we are not new to this calling. We have long stood firmly on the twin pillars of prayer and evangelism. These have always been at the heart of who we are. But in this hour, it feels as though the Lord is inviting us not just to stand—but to run into the harvest fields.
Some of us will run on our knees in faithful, persistent prayer. Others will go—carrying the testimony of Jesus into places near and far. All of us have a part to play.
Let us rise together with faith and expectancy. Let us unite our voices, our hearts, and our actions to see the nations illuminated with His glory. Let’s Light the Nations.
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. —Isaiah 9:2 (NLT)
