Present/Future
Looking at Aglow's Past - Looking Forward to Aglow's Future
I’ve just finished working through a message Ray Hughes gave in Houston in 2011. I find it so interesting that what was said to us 12 years ago is so much easier to understand today because as God has moved us forward, He has built into us so many things that we didn’t have the capacity to receive the full revelation in 2011.
Having gone back through Graham Cooke’s 2025 Conference message, Radical Renewal, I viewed it through a new lens and saw 70 key statements that jumped off the page. You can access them on the Aglow website in four languages.
As you may be aware, Aglow International was birthed during the Charismatic Renewal in the 60’s. People were hungry for more of God, and this fresh, new wave of interest in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was the catalyst that propelled many into a deeper place in their relationship with God.
by Kathy Sanders, Director of Strategic Resources and Projects At the 2018 Leader’s Summit, Graham Cooke taught a session entitled, “Becoming an Heir of God.” In reading though it again today, I was struck with how the keys Graham gave then will unlock doors for us today as we walk through life. Here are a few of them. Under Key 5, Graham made these statements: In these days, it is not enough to get your needs met, it is the baseline. It is the bottom level. As promised in last month’s edition of the Aglow e-news, here is a list of supplies (in English) that every Aglow group should have on hand to be prepared to disciple the coming harvest of new souls into the Kingdom.
In 2017, I had a sense that change was coming, and Lighthouse groups must be prepared to be ready to facilitate the change.
One of the first steps we took after GameChangers and LifeChangers, two key leader development courses taught by Graham Cooke, was to write Fireside Chats for GameChanging Truths.
In Graham Cooke’s 2014 conference in Albuquerque, NM, he spoke on the six expressions of the Church. As many know, the Greek word for Church is Ecclesia, a called-out company of people who are given specific purposes to achieve on earth.
God has never allowed us to settle. He has not allowed us to get caught in a former dimension. It is as though His hand has been in our back, moving us forward into where He wants us to be.
When we know who God has made us to be in the earth as part of the Aglow ministry, we know how we are to stand in our communities all around the world.
One of my tasks in this new era is to go back through conference messages that didn’t get transcribed and to make them available on the Aglow website. I was drawn to a message George Otis Jr. spoke to Aglow at the 2013 International Conference in Orlando, Florida. The title is Transforming Revival Defined.
