Keepers of the Royal Law

Keepers of the Royal Law

Early in March, the Savannah, Georgia, Lighthouse hosted Carolyn Williams, the newly appointed Georgia State Leader, at a luncheon and honor banquet where Carolyn spoke about the refreshing and relaunching of Love Your Neighbor, which was initially shared by Carolyn’s mom, Mary Lance Sisk. Carolyn challenged those in attendance to live out of the royal decree of King Jesus found in James 2:8-9, “If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,’ you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.”

Charity Deloach, President of the group, is a third-generation Aglow leader. Her mother and grandmother had a rich history with Aglow since the early 70’s. While Charity became the leader of Savannah last year, she says that her affiliation with Aglow began in 1996. Charity said, “Upon accepting the office of President of Savannah, I really had it in my heart to do something special for all our leaders, all those who have served in our local group in Savannah.”

Those honored were Bishop Douglas Smith and his wife, Patricia, who serve our group. Bishop Smith also serves with Men of Issachar. Charity said, “We also honored Marilyn Neal, who served over 30 years faithfully in Savannah and on the Area Team. Other team members honored were Angie Lee, Nanette Eckerd, and Marsha Buford. We didn’t stop there. We honored all who have volunteered, as well as those who had titles and positions in the past. And it was our delight to honor all who attend faithfully to support this wonderful group in Savannah.”

God’s Presence was truly in the midst of the meeting. A delicious meal was shared, as well as powerful testimonies. Charity said, “Most importantly, we honored Jesus by remembering His sacrifice on the Cross and by sharing the meal that heals. Gene Chervenak led us in a beautiful scripture reading found in Romans 12. He blessed the bread and the cup as we shared the Lord’s Supper. It was an amazing day.”

Charity ended her report of the Savannah meeting by sending love and blessings to Aglow groups around the world.

Aglow is a family that can be found in over 170 nations. No matter where you are, when you find Aglow, you know that you are instantly loved.
