West Virginia Aglow Events

Priscilla Weaver, President of the West Virginia Area Team, sent in a report of the different Aglow events happening in the state. We enjoyed it and rejoiced with them.

Priscilla said, “WV Aglow teams are alive and active. We held a retreat in March with the theme “Build Him a Habitation.” Wanda Alger was our scheduled speaker, but became ill earlier in the week and was unable to travel, so I, Priscilla Weaver, spoke at the evening session on Friday, and Wanda joined via Zoom for two sessions Saturday morning. The afternoon was devoted to special prayer in a designated prayer room exquisitely decorated under the direction of SPC Cyndi Bernhart. The women who attended were pampered with a Satin Hands treatment and a neck and back massage by two certified massage therapists. About 45-49 people attended. We did, indeed, prepare a place for His Presence. Following the instructions given by Mary Royster, SPC, in Virginia, of mixing the anointing oil prepared at the Mid-Atlantic Gathering, each Lighthouse brought their own oil with special essential oils to add to the oil. We dispensed the oil to each Lighthouse and expect to see miraculous results.

Several Aglow leaders were instrumental in National Day of Prayer events. The Madison Lighthouse President, Gail Little, and I have been co-organizers for 27 events. There were about 200 people who gathered at the Boone County, WV, courthouse. Other events were held in Grafton, Weston, Morgantown, Wheeling, and Parkersburg.

The President of the Morgantown Lighthouse moved back to her home state of Wisconsin, but Dena Pride, the VP, has stepped up to keep the Lighthouse open. We met on May 2, and the Area Team attended. About 25 women came. There were 2 young girls there, and the oldest woman was in her 80s. The rest were varying ages, and many were younger women. We are excited about what God is doing there.

The Madison Aglow hosted a Mother’s Tea on May 12 at my home. The ladies from Fulton House for Women, where we host a weekly Bible study, attended; seven others. It was a very special time of fellowship, honoring mothers and praying for the restoration of relationships with children who have been removed from their mothers. Each lady received a small vase of flowers, a gift bag with hair products, a special teacup, a mini Bundt cake, and a small gift, too.

We continue to meet with and pray with Mayors in various towns. 

We believe we are making a difference in our towns where there are active lighthouses.”

Thank you, Priscilla, to your team and to each Lighthouse in West Virginia. When God spoke to us back in 2006 that there would be a Lighthouse in every town, village, and city around the world, He did it because He had a dream of His people reaching out to others with great purpose – to bring the Gospel message that leads to salvation, the Baptism of Holy Spirit, and discipling people groups with a strong foundation of Biblical truths. It is time for new Lighthouses to be birthed so more people are reached for His Kingdom. We add our faith together to see this come to pass.
