Bridging the Gap
by Janae Lovern, Director, International Field, Director of Conference Operations
This week, a former Aglow staff member, Susan Boucard, visited our Headquarters offices. It has been more than 20 years since she had been to Aglow Headquarters, and those who remembered her were delighted to see her again, and those who came on staff after she left enjoyed getting to know her during her visit.
After she departed, Joan Bennett (former Director in the International Field Office and current volunteer) and I spoke about the significance of the Lord bringing generations of Aglow women together more and more often. Joan recalled a word that the Lord had given to her many years ago in which He told her to “take care of the younger women,” and she knew He meant that she, and other Aglow women, were to focus on raising up younger women in Aglow.
As Joan shared this word, I began to see a picture of a bridge with young women standing on one side and former and current Aglow women stepping up to the other side. Together the generations reached each other at the middle of the bridge, confirming the Lord’s “Bridging the Gap” word that He spoke to me at the end of 2023.
May we end this year, 2025, praying into this promise and declaration, and may 2026 bring forth stories of how the Lord is bridging the gap in His nations all over the world.
