Aglow Sri Lanka Missions Trip

It was in the midst of turbulent and uncertain times and the looming fuel crisis that the Aglow Sri Lanka National Board stepped out in faith on our 8th Missions trip to the upcountry. The mandate given to us was to “Open blind eyes and to free captives from prison and release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.” Isaiah 42: 7

Seminars were held in Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England,” and Haputale surrounded by rolling hills and heavy mist with beautiful tea plantations. Between 200 and 230 women gathered in each location from 12 -15 churches to be in the presence of the Lord. The worship was uplifting and anointed, and we believe that bondages were being broken as His presence filled the house.

Topics covered by the speakers included,

• Building on a strong foundation that weathers the storms of life. Luke 6
• Raising a godly family with wisdom and understanding: Proverbs 14: 1 
• Strengthening one’s marriage by being submissive
• Allowing the Holy Spirit to bring inner transformation.

The testimonies shared by the speakers were powerful, speaking directly to their lives. Many came up for prayer and ministry and were strengthened in their faith and resolve to draw closer to the LORD and live according to His word.

The song “I am a daughter of the King,” composed by Ruvani Desinghe, Director, Generations, and translated to Tamil by Ruth Thevamany was sung in Sinhala and Tamil by both. This song ministered powerfully to the women as it speaks about one’s identity being found in Christ.

We are believing that the truth spoken into their lives would take root deeply to bring inner transformation. May women arise as they understand their calling to build and nurture healthy, Godly families. The strength of a nation lies in strong Godly homes.
