Celebrating the Retirement of Kay Rogers

Kay Rogers

After 38 years of dedicated service, Kay Rogers — the steady heartbeat of our headquarters team — is stepping into a well-earned new season. Effective April 30, Kay will be retiring, leaving behind a legacy that has touched every corner of Aglow International. Her faithful presence, sharp mind, and unwavering commitment will be deeply missed.

Kay’s journey with Aglow began long before she joined our staff in 1987. She served in local Lighthouses in Hawaii and Virginia for 10 years before answering the call to the executive department at headquarters, where she became assistant to the board secretary. From that moment forward, she served with excellence and grew into one of our most trusted and visionary leaders.

Her professional achievements are remarkable:

  • She holds a Political Science degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and earned her Paralegal certification from the Paralegal Institute in Virginia.
  • While working full-time at Aglow, Kay devoted seven years of nights and weekends to complete her MBA from Seattle Pacific University — a testament to her persistence and determination.

Throughout her tenure, Kay held numerous leadership roles that shaped the ministry in profound ways:

  • 1988: Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Aglow
  • 1992: Resource Development Manager
  • 1994: Managing Director of Ministry Services
  • 2004: Director of Aglow Relations
  • 2007: Executive Director for Strategic Ministry Development
  • 2009: Chief of Staff
  • 2016: Chief of Strategic Services

Kay’s influence has been felt across initiatives and generations:

  • She chaired the first Computer Search Committee in 1989–90, leading to the acquisition of Aglow’s first mainframe computer.
  • She helped oversee the headquarters move to our 3rd & Dayton location.
  • She played a pivotal role in the creation of the Diwaniya television series, produced in Cairo to reach Muslim women across the globe — raising hundreds of thousands of dollars and producing over 150 half-hour episodes.
  • And she was instrumental in coordinating Aglow’s powerful annual journeys to Israel, welcoming participants from over 35 nations.

Kay’s legacy is one of vision, excellence, and kingdom impact. As she steps into retirement, we honor all she has poured into this ministry and celebrate the next chapter of rest, joy, and new adventures.

With grateful hearts, we say: Thank you, Kay. You have run the race well.

I can’t imagine our Aglow leadership without you, dear Kay. You were always so personable and down to earth, friendly and easy to talk to. I pray your body is healing and becoming whole. Enjoy your retirement, but please show your lovely face and voice from time to time online and at conferences, so we can know you are OK. I miss you already, including at our last conference. The Lord bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Dear Kay.
I do appreciate everything you did in Aglow. It was always good seeing you at the conferences. I remember you and a few others told your stories at the conference in Richmond, I believe. I had my 2 granddaughters with me there. Our personal testimonies are so vital to us in Aglow, as it continues to show the goodness of God in a personal way that bolsters our faith. Your handwritten notes on Aglow letters were also special to me.
