Recently, Laura Campos, VP of Public Relations for the Edinburg, TX Lighthouse, posted on Facebook a notice about their Lighthouse Monthly Book Club. They choose books that will not only help those who come deepen their understanding of scripture, but to also make meaningful connections with others in the community. The group meets the third Thursday of each month and they dive into different scriptures. This month they are focusing on 1 John 1-7 where they are exploring themes of light, truth, and fellowship.
Laura said, “This book club provides a safe place and an opportunity for community members to engage in thoughtful discussions, share personal insights, and to grow spiritually in a supportive and encouraging environment.”
At Christmas time, the Edinburg Lighthouse teamed up with Rivers of Life Ministry Church to visit the residents of Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Edinburg. While the Church shared the message about the birth of Jesus, a time of singing carols was enjoyed by all. As the group walked the halls, they could feel the joy of the Lord. It was so good of God to bring us together to spread joy and fun with the residents.
The team said, “We go to bring joy and cheer, and end up being blessed ourselves every time we go.” We would LOVE to hear what YOUR Aglow group is doing in your community. We KNOW that God gives creative ideas to each group that provides opportunities to touch those in the community. Share your story with us! Tell Us Your Story
