eNews – You are the Light of God in Your Community

As I think back on the many things I have learned in Aglow in my nearly 50 years of service as a volunteer in the field and 21 years at Aglow Headquarters, my prayer is that we are continuing to impart life giving lessons to those who attend our Aglow gatherings across the United States. So many are hurting with compiled disaster after disaster. Homes have been destroyed, family members lost and hope seems deferred.

The Bible says in Proverbs 13:12 that hope deferred makes the heart sick. Into the middle of this deferred hope, God has positioned Aglow in communities all over our nation. And wherever Aglow is, the spiritual water level in that community rises. This means that you and I have the opportunity each day to not only be the bearers of hope in our community – we can impart it to those who are overcome and distraught! A simple touch, a kind word, a cup of coffee and a moment of sharing – each one touches a heavy heart and causes that weighty heaviness to begin to lift.

As I think of Lighthouses and Area Teams, my prayer is that you are the Light of God in your community as you do prayer drives, hold gatherings, make declarations over the community and watch Heaven come to earth as you follow the lead of Holy Spirit. We declare it together today, on earth in our community as it is in Heaven. The blind will see, the lame will walk, and the dead shall live again. Our greatest days are not behind us, Aglow, our greatest days are ahead of us.
