eNews – We ARE the Revival

You Are Loved

Recently, I read a few articles discussing the “comeback” of Christianity in the US and other nations around the world. While we know Christianity didn’t go anywhere, the data is amazing with some nations seeing church attendance amongst 18 to 24-year old’s quadruple in the span of 4 years!

This ‘quiet revival’ as one person called it or “Faith Resurgence” is being led by Gen Z. The younger generations are driven by desires for community, meaning, and a place of belonging. Generation Z and Millennials are beginning to show lower rates of anxiety and depression and higher rates of hope as they turn from negative stereotypes to finding their identities in Christ.

They are Game Changers! “In a world that often leaves young people digitally connected but emotionally adrift, [faith] seems to offer not just answers, but anchors. *”

An Aglow teen recently watched a film set in the 1960’s about young hippies’ who began attending a church that welcomed them when no other churches would, regardless of their connections to drugs, alcohol, and non-Christian values.

With tears running down her cheeks, this Aglow teen said, “The whole time they were searching for acceptance and love by turning to drugs, alcohol, and other things…but then they discovered Jesus, and HE was what they were looking for all along!” It is such a gift for each one of us, at such a time as this, to be lights in the darkness, to bring hope to the hopeless, and just as in this movie, to welcome people with open arms (even if we disagree with their lifestyles) because Jesus is who they are looking for!

We are not praying for a revival…. we ARE the revival! The dawn has risen on this New Day, Aglow, and we are awake with renewed commitment, increased fervor, and deeper relationships with Him!
