Yellow Booties Project

Yellow Booties Project

The vision of the ‘Yellow Booties Project’ came as ladies were praying together on Zoom in January of 2024 and asking the Lord what He wanted them to do in Aglow East Anglia, Britain.

One of the ladies had a picture. She was holding a baby wearing a pair of sunflower yellow booties, and she felt it was a dark place, just a room without a view.

They recalled how Moses was put in a basket and taken up the river, but landed safely at Pharaoh’s daughter, and how Moses’ mother nursed Moses and God wonderfully provided for him. A prophetic word had been released earlier at their Local Group in St. Ives that they were midwives.

Soon after this Zoom prayer meeting, they made contact with a Midwives Clinic in St. Ives. They shared their vision with the senior midwife and a trainee, that Aglow in St. Ives was a Christian organization that wanted to reach mums who needed a helping hand by filling Moses baskets with brand new baby clothes, nappies, and all the essential items needed to get mums and babies off to a good start. The midwives were very excited. They were having an awful day and said later that Aglow had turned their day around. Hallelujah!

Yellow Booties Project

In February of 2024, their first Moses basket was delivered to the clinic, and they promised to deliver one every month. So far, they have provided over 21 baskets and gift bags filled with baby clothing, hand knitted garments, toiletries, sanitary items, sweets for the mums, and a leaflet introducing Aglow and with an invitation to their monthly meetings.

From time to time, they are asked for an emergency Moses basket as there is a very urgent need. The mums are sometimes trafficked, abused, raped, refugees, or mums on a low income. Donations of money are frequently received, and ladies bring items to their monthly meetings. They never go without; this is God’s ministry, and He provides.

They pray for them and the midwives who kindly deliver the baskets to mums and babies, and for any prayer requests received.

This is awesome! I’m a crocheter and I have contributed to Warm Up America since the pandemic. I have often thought about doing something like this for the CARE Pregnancy Center in my hometown. Thanks for the inspiration!
