The Zip Code Club
by Janae Lovern, Director of Generations
The Zip Code Club is a children-focused prayer group whose mission is to learn how to pray. Formed in conjunction with a trip across Pennsylvania, it was birthed because we were looking for the next generation of leaders to bring up in Aglow. Some of the Aglow grandmothers and great-grandmothers were lost due to Covid. In an effort to reclaim their spiritual legacy, we went after their seed to carry on the teachings of Aglow and to instill them in the generations being raised up.
Zip Code Club is a structured prayer group that is learning how to pray for a zip code, then a county, then a state, then their nation, and then the world.
They meet weekly for a 15-minute phone call to pray for their zip codes. Then, after the 12-year-olds had a sleepover, they decided they should also have a Zoom call. So, they decided to meet for a 30-minute Zoom call each week to pray. Others are invited to listen in on the calls, to join, or to learn from our warriors in the making!
