Praying at the Denver, CO Capitol

South/Central Colorado Area Team - Donna, Julie, Naomi, Maria, Nancy

During the Elbert County Day, Nancy Wiswell and 4 other friends went to Denver to worship and pray through the Capitol.

They joined with another group, Governing Praise, on the grounds and immediately felt connected as they praised and honored Jesus.

Nancy said, “It was a privilege to go to the House of Representatives and the Senate and bring Holy Spirit’s power by declaring His Word in the midst of darkness brought on by the decisions of the elected officials. There is great hope for Colorado.”

The group began with worship and then went to the actual chambers during sessions where they prayed quietly in the Spirit. When the two chambers emptied, the group went and prayed in each one as they quietly sang, Holy Spirit, You are welcome in this place. They made decrees over the elected leaders before ending their time praying outside the Governor’s office.

Nancy said, “One of our friends has been told by a representative that the atmosphere is different – better – when groups come to pray.”

God’s Word says in 1 Timothy 2:1-3:

Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.

Aglow believes in praying God’s Word over all those in authority. Take time daily to speak life, calling for wisdom from Heaven to fall upon each leader so that their decisions align with Heaven’s plans and purposes over each nation.  Here are a few scripture references to get you started: 2 Chron. 7:14; Prov. 21:1; Jer. 29:7; Rom. 13:1
