Lift Up A Standard
Taken from Nancy McDaniel’s Facebook account page.
The following was posted by our President, Nancy McDaniel:
Isaiah 59:19 “So shall they fear the Name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”
While there are different interpretations of ‘lift up a standard,’ just picture this with me for a moment! What if the standard is the Lord’s banner – His flag to claim and mark His territory in the earth? And what if that banner is us??? We are the mark, the demonstration of His dominion in the earth! So, just as we have been raising the banner of Jesus, He is saying, ‘These are My people, and these are My nations!’ When the enemy sees this banner, he knows he has no authority here. He knows it’s time for him to back off and leave us alone! Leave our nation alone!
Come, Lord, and lift up Your standard in our midst!
Light the Nations
A Strategic Prayer Initiative
Matthew 9:37-38 tells us, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.”
As we continue to pray into this prayer initiative, let’s anchor ourselves to Jesus’ command in the verses above. The reason we are going is because He is sending. Yet He is not sending as though we were leaving for an everyday task. The word for send in the Greek is a strong word, meaning “to cast out,” “to compel one to depart,” “cause one to depart in haste.” There’s urgency in His words. One other interpretation of His words is “to lead one away somewhere with a force which he cannot resist.” Wow! That is the tone of His words to us. And that is why we are going.
This is His harvest. Paid for with His blood. So as we continue to pray over these nations and call them out before His Throne, allow the tone of His voice to saturate your spirit in prayer:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gaza, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia/Somaliland, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Western, Sahara, Yemen.
We are praying for a breakthrough of the gospel among the unreached people groups in these nations. We are also asking those of you in a nation on this list to gather and pray! Let us know how you are responding to this call to prayer! The targeted times for this strategic prayer are September 22 – October 4, 2026. But we will keep praying until the Lord of the Harvest answers our prayers! So, Aglow, we have been mantled to pray! Let’s send light into these nations of the earth!
Surrounding Israel In Prayer
Submitted by John McCroskey, Aglow State Prayer Coordinator, Texas, USA
This month, April 2026, we have three Spring Feasts of the Lord: Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits. This month, I wish to say a few words about sanctification by focusing on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which takes place on the fifteenth day of Nisan (April 2). In the Bible, leaven symbolizes error or evil. It is the agent that causes fermentation. Yeshua told His disciples, “Beware of the leaven (the erroneous doctrines) of the Pharisees.” And the Apostle Paul warned the Corinthian church, in the context of unjudged sin in their midst, that a little leaven (or yeast) leavens (ferments) the whole lump. Let’s remember that HE is HOLY and we can always walk in victory because of the greater One in us.
Father, we pray that these three Feasts would point the Jewish people to Jesus (Yeshua). We pray that the Jewish people, through the convincing power of Your Holy Spirit, would desire to get rid of the leaven of their old life (the old sin nature). We pray that they will then experience for themselves the miracle of Yeshua’s resurrection power through the miracle of the new birth.
A Note and A Prayer
While I was still struggling with my identity, I can remember reading the scripture mentioned in the opening thoughts from Isaiah 59. “When the enemy comes in like a flood,” was all I saw. I was fixed on what the enemy was doing. I was filled with fear. I hadn’t experienced the love of the Father that would set me free. So, fear struck a chord in my heart. And over and over, fear worked in my thoughts, denying me the full understanding of that verse. Then came the day when the Father broke into that lie through a song playing on the radio. It wasn’t a worship song. It wasn’t even about the Lord. It was a 70’s song called “Stuck in the Middle with You.” And when the song played, I had this breakthrough understanding that Jesus was on one side. The Father was on the other. And I was stuck right in the middle of them! And I was free! God will remove everything standing in the way of His affections toward us! Today, I understand the verse in a much richer way! Today, when the enemy comes, I am looking for the move of the Father toward me! The fear is gone! I am stuck in the middle of the Father and the Son! May you know the unrelenting love of the Father that chases away the trace of the enemy.
Father, thank You that You have placed us in-between You and Jesus. The enemy can’t reach us because we are hidden in You. Thank You that You break in to rescue us from every enemy! Amen.
Joyfully yours,

Prayer Director
