Mercy’s Call, a partner ministry with Aglow, creates a safe and confidential environment for women who have lost children through abortion to find healing and freedom as “mercy triumphs over judgment”. Weekend retreats are frequently held for small groups in order to give individualized attention to each woman.
Kathy Horst, a Post Abortion Resource Coordinator for the Aglow Mid-Atlantic Region writes, “Recently 6 women attended the weekend workshop. At the beginning of our time together, 2 of the women were not sure if they were saved, but by the conclusion of the weekend they had both fully accepted Christ.”
“Two of the women were in extreme mental anguish from their losses. One surrendered her pain, but the other had a very difficult time when we came to the place of naming our children, which made it very personal. She had been a “cutter”, and was also having other self-destructive thoughts. Part of her healing process was to acknowledging that the little girl inside her had died as a child. It was hard for her to face this truth, but she did face it, and recognized she could now walk out in wholeness. It took several hours of spending personal time with her to get to that point, but God broke through the anguish, and freedom and forgiveness came rushing in!”
“It was a very intense spiritual weekend and I know that freedom came to the women's hearts in such a powerful way only because of the faithful prayers of our intercessors! The Lord’s strength rose up within us as a team, and we were able to withstand the onslaught of the enemies plan to avert the freedom that God had for them.”
“Two others also received healing during the weekend. One has a dream to open a house for young pregnant women (she already ministers to them in her home). The other has a dream to help women who have been ‘trafficked and exploited’ in honor of her child. Both have already expressed these dreams to ‘Mercy’s Call’ so you can see the value this ministry brings to help restore their identity enabling them to fulfill their destiny.”
“We were very grateful to the VA ladies and the Danville Lighthouse who provided a superb home and warm hospitality for the weekend. To God be all Glory!!!”
