- Founded on faith in the Lord’s provision for His own work: We will take our needs to the Lord, trust the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of our donors, and then make our needs clearly and concisely known in a way that invites and encourages heartfelt, generous and cheerful giving.
- Biblically reflective: We will conduct our fundraising activities within the light of what the Scriptures reveal about raising the funds necessary to conduct the ministry. We will not imply that one’s giving to Aglow International is a substitute for giving to one’s local church.
- Relationally based: Acknowledging that God is relational by nature, we will base our relationships with our donors upon love and trust. We will seek to build personal relationships that cherish the whole person of our donors. We will always treat our donors with dignity and respect.
- Statement of Faith: Nothing in our fund raising may contradict our Statement of Faith.
- Disciplined by purpose statement: We will raise funds to meet genuine needs within the context of the purpose statement of Aglow International, found in our Articles of Incorporation.
- Full disclosure: We will practice complete financial disclosure and stand accountable to the Lord, ourselves, and our donors in the determining of need and the raising and spending of the Lord’s money. This will include publishing audited financial statements to anyone who requests them, and honoring any reasonable request to inspect our financial records and expense reports.
- Integrity in communication: All representations of fact, description of financial condition, or narrative about events must be current, complete, and accurate. There may be no material omissions or exaggerations of fact or use of misleading photographs, or any other communication that might tend to create a false impression or misunderstanding.
- The role of communication: As we actively invite and encourage heartfelt, generous, and cheerful giving, we are filled with a sense of the urgency of our mission while at the same time, constrained as follows:
We feel a compassionate urgency about our fund raising efforts because:
- The task is urgent. People groups around the world need to know Jesus as Savior, Lord, Healer and Baptizer in the Holy Spirit.
- The task is great.
- Our ministry has integrity. Our programs are worthy of support; we need not be shy about urging people to help fund them.
- Giving is an act of biblical obedience: (Heb. 13:16; Prov. 3:9; 2 Cor. 9:7). Therefore, we may encourage people to give.
Meanwhile, we are constrained to:
- Present stewardship of one’s resources and giving to God’s work as an act of obedience to the Lord.
- Be straightforward and sincere in our relationships and communications.
- Honor all statements made, either by Aglow International in fund raising appeals or by donors as they give a gift, about the use of the gift.
- Reporting: Wherever requested, Aglow will provide a report on the project for which it is soliciting gifts.
- Acknowledgements of gifts in kind: When property or gifts in kind are received by Aglow, the acknowledgement will describe the property or gift accurately without a statement of the gift’s market value in compliance with current IRS regulations regarding acknowledging receipt of gifts in kind.
- Maintenance of the Aglow donor base: Aglow will maintain its own donor base.
- Renting or exchanging lists: Aglow will not rent or exchange its donor list with any organization. Aglow will not rent available mailing lists of other organizations for the purpose of prospecting for new donors.
