One simple, but powerful way to share the love of God with someone in need is to send them a card. Recently, an Aglow staff member had a friend in the hospital, so a group of Aglow staff members wrote messages of love and encouragement in a card for her.
The staff member writes, “I brought the card to my friend in the hospital last night, and she was blown away by the love and thoughtfulness of the Aglow staff. When I arrived she was really down, pretty much questioning God for her very existence on the earth. I said a few things, but just let her talk and cry for a while. Then I handed her the card but she didn’t know what was inside. She thought it was just a card from me. I didn’t say anything, but when she opened it and saw all the notes, her eyes got big and she exclaimed, ‘Wow! They don’t even know me, and they love me so much!’ Then her heart settled down and I was able to talk with her about God’s intentions for her life and His great love for her. She had a smile on her face and gratefulness in her heart when I left her to go home.”
“Another part of this story is about my friend’s mother who lives in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. When I heard that a Transformation Team was going down there to speak at the home of an Aglow member, I sent the information to my friend’s mother, hoping she would go. Well, she is going to the meeting and is very excited about it. It will be her first Aglow meeting. The Aglow member emailed me and said that when my friend’s mother called her for information about the meeting she told her all about ‘this friend of her daughters who had loved her and helped her through so much.’ The Aglow member responded, “Yes, that’s what Aglow is all about.”
We all are involved in a most amazing journey with God in this big Aglow family we are part of!
