Fairborn Aglow Outreach to MothersThis Mother's Day, the mothers at the Fairborn Women's Network received a unique gift from the Fairborn Aglow designed especially for them. Each mother was given a beautiful custom-made cloth tote bag filled with baby wipes, tissues, a baby bib, a Bible story book, the CD 'Thinking of You', and a special item selected just for Mom.

The Fairborn Women’s Network is an organization committed to providing abortion alternatives, educating parents, strengthening families, and giving confidential help to women who find themselves in crisis situations.

It all started when the "Widow's Might", a ministry group within Fairborn Aglow, decided to make cloth bags out of donated fabric for the new mothers at the Fairborn Women's Network. They shared their plans with Cindy Freshour, V.P. of Ministry Development.

What they didn't know, was that Cindy had been asking the Lord what He wanted Fairborn Aglow to do for the Fairborn Women's Network on Mother's Day. Immediately, Cindy knew that the cloth bags were to be that gift, and that they should be filled with 5 specific items. She asked the Widows Might group to sew 50 “Mom Bags”.

Cindy then invited all of the Fairborn Aglow members to participate by donating the needed items. Over the next three months members brought items to the Aglow meetings. Several people approached Cindy saying they preferred to give a monetary donation towards the purchase of the items, which Cindy set aside in a fund designated for this project.

Recording artist, and Fairborn Aglow V.P. of Public Relations, Marluta Correll, was led by the Lord to donate one of her 'Thinking of You' CD's for each Mom Bag. The CD project contains a song she wrote just for mothers entitled “They call me Mom”.

The Leadership Team of Fairborn Aglow stuffed each Mom Bag, praying over them and blessing them. Cindy made the delivery to Nikki Stefanow, director of the 'Fairborn Women's Network' by the first of May. Nikki was delighted and overwhelmed by this amazing act of love shown to her needy clients.

Fairborn is grateful for all the Aglow members who donated items and money for this project, and for the members of the Widows Might who donated fabric, cut out the patterns and did the sewing.

Tina Marie Brown, Fairborn Aglow President writes, “I am very excited about the fact that Fairborn Aglow is touching our community one mother and baby at a time with the truth about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.”
