On July 26, 2014 Divine Dance presented a Flash Mob dance in recognition of National Dance Day, demonstrating dance as a means to improve fitness and physical and emotional health.
The dance was directed by Zabrina Robinson, Southeast Region Generations Project Coordinator. The Flash Mob dances were held on two popular summer beaches that are regularly visited by locals and tourists during the summer season; Isle of Palms and Folly Beach.
This Flash Mob consisted of Divine Dance team members, as well as over 30 volunteer participants from the Charleston metro area. The dance also received national attention, as it was posted on the Folly Beach City Council web page. Families from Missouri, Maryland, Georgia and North Carolina took part in the dance.
Divine Dance is also planning to work with local Aglow International Lighthouses to conduct Flash Mob dances for conferences and Generations Projects events. This type of event is a great way to engage young people in learning fun, exciting and unique ways to express themselves while worshiping the Lord.
