Covenant Partnership with Aglow, the staff member received a beautiful response from Doris recounting her long history being an Aglow woman.
After an Aglow staff member sent out an email thanking Doris Shuler for herDoris explained in her email that in 1971 her husband had a farming accident precipitating a “near death” experience and an encounter with God. This experience “shook the whole farming community”.
From the events surrounding the accident, a friend introduced Doris and her husband to the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship and to Aglow. A few years later she “had the great privilege” of helping to start an Aglow Lighthouse in her area.
Doris had many wounds from trying to tell people about her husband’s experience, being often misunderstood. In Aglow she found a place of refuge. She writes, “Jesus saved me first when I was 14, but Aglow saved me again. The ladies in Aglow took me under their wings, and helped heal up my wounds.”
The email concluded by saying, “I am proud to be many years an Aglow woman. As I push onward to serve with ladies around the world to shout victory for our heavenly Father.”
