At the third annual Territorial Interdenominational Service of Thanksgiving and Intercession, the Premier of the British Virgin Islands called on churches to be more active in the recovery phase of the nation after the destruction to the islands from the September 2017 hurricanes. The theme of the event was ‘Rebuilding Stronger Together with Christ’.
Premier Smith stated that government cannot do it alone, and implored the churches to pray for them for God to give politicians the divine counsel that they need to govern wisely.
In his address Premier Smith said, “The divine protection for me as your Premier, your government, the members of the House of Assembly, public officers, the private sector and everyone, is needed for us to come together to create a roadmap for a brighter future for this territory.”
The event was a collaboration between the Government of the Virgin Islands and Aglow International Virgin Islands Chapter.
