“As Fairborn Aglow entered 2016 we were stirred to continue focusing on community outreach,” writes Tina Marie Brown, Aglow Fairborn President. Tina continues, “We drew our inspiration from Jane Hanson Hoyt, who gave us direction in the US Leaders Digest. She said, ‘We (Aglow) are about bringing the Kingdom into each community because that is the heart of God…As leaders you are to capture the heart of what Aglow is about in this end-time hour. Bring that greater vision to the people of the Lighthouse.’ We believe that our Community Outreach Project is doing just that and that we are to increase our focus there.
“As leaders we decided to be examples of God's love in a practical way. We each donated money every month to purchase diapers for our local 'FYI Parenting Network'. Then we asked the Lord to match our leadership donation of diapers, with donations from the Lighthouse members. The Lord answered our prayers in a mighty way. Monthly we have been taking a whole car load of diapers, baby wipes, personal hygiene items, and much more to the 'Fairborn Parenting Network'. The FYI Network Director, told us that our donations have been such a blessing that she has been able to share them with two other parenting networks in Springfield, OH, and New Carlisle, OH. Praise the Lord for extending our outreach tent pegs!
“Each Christmas we offer Christmas gifts to the clients of the 'Fairborn Parenting Network'. This year, through the generosity of our Fairborn Aglow Members, we purchased 75 key chains for the mothers and 106 Bible story books for the children. We love spreading the word of God through Bible story books that will be read to the children, and the key chains that parents will use every day. Again enough gifts were donated by Fairborn Aglow, to share with the other two community networks. The Director said that the clients get very excited when they are offered a Christmas gift. She enjoys seeing the joy on each child’s face when they are handed a wrapped gift. This simple act of kindness is spreading the love of Jesus in a practical way that will not be forgotten by the clients.
“We want to thank our Fairborn Aglow members for capturing the heart of Aglow and bringing the Kingdom of God, not just to our Fairborn community, but to two other communities: Springfield and New Carlisle.
“Together, we can take Jesus to the world one life at a time!”
