Aglow Teams and friends gathered in northeastern Colorado April 21-22, 2023, for the Colorado State Rally. The theme was “Harmony on the Prairie” from the Scripture Colossians 3:14 Amp. “And above all these, put on love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness which binds everything together completely in ideal Harmony”. Despite some disappointments and last-minute changes to plans, it was an exciting, Spirit-filled, and very harmonious Rally.
Cheryl Newbanks, President of the Northern Colorado Area Team said, “Colorado’s two Area teams – South-Central, led by Karen Troup, and Northern, led by me, worked in unity to plan, decorate and execute a wonderful two-day gathering that encouraged and inspired Colorado Aglow to expand the tent pegs and go forth to bring others into God’s Kingdom.
Friday afternoon we enjoyed anointed and powerful prayer ministry, led by Beverly Gadbois, Colorado State Prayer Coordinator. After amazing Praise and Worship; we experienced teaching, demonstrations, testimonies, and personal times of Prayer, along with Declarations over Colorado and America for Jesus to be Lord of all!
Each session began with the blowing of the shofars by Carolyn Ryer, Carol Carpenter and Billie Best, followed with anointed Praise and Worship, led by our dynamic duo of Crystal and Tammy. Jimmy Alexander, Evangelist and Aglow Advisor, brought a powerful message on Friday evening which he had received from the Lord for our gathering. Amber Alcoser, Central Regions Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, gave a brief description of her amazing information, that she can share with each Lighthouse in a short segment. Many attendees received prayer for healing, direction and power!
Saturday morning, following fellowship time with fruit, muffins, and, of course, coffee, we had a Ministry to our Community time featuring our chosen group to bless. New Creations Ministries is led by Josh and Tammy Barker and their family, who are also very active in the Yuma Aglow Lighthouse. They work with recovering addicts and people trying to return to productive lives after being in prison. Their dreams include a homeless shelter, and a Christian activities center, including a gym and recreation activities for youth and adults. Jimmy Alexander blessed us with another anointed message and powerful prayer ministry!
During our delicious catered lunch, we enjoyed testimonies and short segments by Amy Everett, Colorado Prays; Faye Barnhart, Director of Initiative for Life for Colorado; and Niau Mora, Worship Dance Team Leader and survivor of stage-4 cancer, healed by God! All were very inspiring!
Our Prayer Room, facilitated by Pat Powell, State Prayer Ambassador, was available for prayer throughout our Conference, highlighted by Power Prayer for 15 minutes before each session. Alisha Burnison Cortez, Generations Coordinator for the Central Region led several teens in teaching sessions and hosted a pizza supper for them. Area Team Members, Billie Best and Yvonne Dawdy, shared an informative and inviting invitation to attend Aglow International Conference in Jacksonville, Florida in September.
Our grand finale message was given by Pastor Tracy Kline of New Life Christian Center on “Body, Soul and Spirit” followed by Communion and much powerful prayer ministry. We were very blessed, encouraged and moved to being more like Jesus every day!”
Cheryl concluded with, “We had set our goal to follow the Lord’s plan and to have opportunity for blessing, salvation and a deeper walk with our Lord, and healing of body, soul, and spirit in every session. I believe this was accomplished in our Colorado State Rally in 2023, held in Yuma, Colorado at the Nazarene Church.”
The power of invitation, even if rejected, plants the seed of a person’s worth. Encourage your attendees to bring someone with them to the next Aglow event.
