Bobbie Moody, President of the Lancaster Lighthouse said, “We heard about this ministry through our local CareNet, which assists women and families in times of crisis pregnancies to find Jesus and protect and nurture them and their babies.”
Bobbie explains that 40 Days for Life is the ministry that helped Abby Johnson of the ‘Unplanned’ movie. It is a global ministry that conducts a fall and a spring 40 day campaign that includes a peaceful prayer walk with signs proclaiming that there is another way than abortion.
She said, “We have joined with them before and a couple years ago, attended their Walk for Life in Los Angeles where 35,000 people walked and prayed for life. At times there have only been 1-2 of us, however, this year we have had as many as 8 of our Aglow women join, as well as, our Area President, Nellie LeBouef. We have increased our times from the Saturday campaign to committing to an hour a week at the new Women’s Clinic that performs abortions in our town. The times of prayer, sharing, waving at those who honk, giving thumbs up, even praying for those who disagree and sharing and praying with those who walk by has been a wonderful time of war in the heavenlies for we know that abortion is against the heart of God.
This year we began to go out for lunch following our prayer time and we have enjoyed the fellowship immensely.
While we meet each Tuesday evening, where we are currently studying Dutch Sheets book, ‘Intercessory Prayer’, these walks have given us opportunity to put what we are learning to practice. “
We want to thank each Aglow group who is impacting their community as they carry out the assignments God has given them to do. We invite you to contact us to share your story so that other groups can be encouraged to move out of the meeting place into the community with proven strategies of love and kindness to bless and win the lost. Aglow Lighthouses are gifts from God to the community. What will He use your group to do?
Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by My Father! Take what’s coming to you in this Kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why:
I was hungry and You fed me,
I was thirsty and You gave me a drink,
I was homeless and You gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.’
Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are You talking about? When did we ever see You hungry and feed You, thirsty and give You a drink? And when did we ever see You sick or in prison and come to You?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was Me — you did it to Me.’
