On December 17th, 2016 the Monroe NC (AM) Community Lighthouse hosted a Christmas Breakfast for all the public safety workers at a local firehouse.
Amy Keziah, Lighthouse Vice-President writes:
This was our opportunity to bless them with the first meal of the day while saying a big thank you. With their long hour shifts and dedication to keep us safe in Monroe, NC we were delighted to bless each and every one of their stomachs. We had 42 public safety officials who enjoyed great food, awesome moments with their buddies from other departments and the possibility of taking home a door prize.
It was great getting to know these ladies and gentleman as they thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere the Holy Spirit created. Our meeting was mostly of fireman coming in on different shifts from nearby. It was like breakfast tag with one group leaving after they ate to allow the next group at their station to come on down.
Some of them got calls while they were there and had to jump up. We had to-go coffee cups ready along with the to-go plates just in case that happened. Most were able to enjoy hanging out for a bit after they were done eating which provided lots of laughs for all of us.
Our meeting allowed us to get to know those who serve our community in different crisis moments while they get to know who we serve on High. We look forward to seeing our new friends around town and at some Aglow meetings in the future.
