Greetings! It’s been a busy year. But it’s time to get back to the helpful, monthly reminders of human trafficking across the world, and what we can do to combat it. This month, I’d like to take a short moment to update you on Rescue Freedom, give you information on the 2016 TIP report, and to share some general prayer points for this month.
Rescue: Freedom International
Thank you to everyone who sent in cards for Rescue: Freedom International. I can’t say how proud I am of us, Aglow!! We stepped in, as a team, and sent 700 prayer-filled letters, cards, and notes from 6 nations, to the children and house Moms and Dads of India and Thailand!
You’ve never met these children. You’ve never seen them, and for protection purposes aren’t can't even show you their pictures. Yet, you banded together as Aglow groups, across the world, in prayer and encouragement for them. My heart is touched and overflowing. Rescue: Freedom International is so moved and grateful. Thank you!!!
I’m reminded of Matthew 10:42 which says, And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward. Thank you, Aglow, for giving of your time, heart, and prayer.
2016 Trafficking In Persons Report
I want to share the 2016 TIP Report – a very useful resource that was released earlier this summer. The 2016 TIP Report can be found here.
This report, released by the U.S. State Department's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, grades countries around the world on a tier system, according to their practices regarding human trafficking.
Where Does Your Country Rank? To see where your nation ranks, you can find a 1-2 page summary of how trafficking is being combatted in your nation, as well as read an explanation for its tier standing, by clicking on “Country Narratives” and the first letter of your nation under the 2016 TIP Report main page.
This report gives a glimpse into trafficking in different areas of the world. I highly suggest taking a few moments to browse the report for nations not your own. Has God laid a nation on your heart to pray over? Have you traveled, or want to travel, to anywhere specific? Take a minute to read over those nations in this report, and once you’re done reading, take a minute to pray for that nation.
Focus your mind on prayer. What can you do with this information? Who can you tell, that might be surprised to know that trafficking takes place in a certain area?
Prayer Points
This month let’s pray for trafficking in our communities:
- Pray for protection over vulnerable girls and boys who could be trafficked.
- Pray for rescue and restoration for trafficking victims.
- Pray for your local law enforcement. Pray for integrity, encouragement and strength.
- Pray for an increase of purity and righteousness in your community, schools, and city.
- Continue to pray for Rescue Freedom International as they continue to rescue, restore, and empower those caught in slavery.
- Recently a business in one of our local communities was closed as police investigated and found it to be a site of human trafficking. Prayer. Changes. Things.
Proclaim Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do MORE than you can ask or think in your city!! Let’s believe the Lord! Let’s pray, stand, and watch what He will do!
