Prayer breaks chains and gives favor that is supernatural. It enables rescue and puts people in the right place at the right time.

Thank you to all who were able to join the prayer call in December – it was a great time!
The month of January is known in the U.S. as Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and January 11th, in particular is set aside as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. I encourage you to get active in PRAYER and ACTIVITY this month with two challenges.
Your Challenge
Challenge #1 – PRAYER
You may have heard Aglow’s new prayer initiative – Men Take Mountains and Women Crush Chaos. You can read about it in full here but the idea is to pray every Thursday, specifically to declare righteousness over mountains of influence in society, and speak the peace and power of Jesus into chaos in the world.
Your prayer challenge is to pray 5 – 10 minutes alone, with a friend, or in groups, EVERY THURSDAY IN JANUARY regarding anti-trafficking.
You can pray for: victims to be rescued, survivors to be healed, survivors to be set free, prevention and protection for your schools or more.

Challenge #2 – ACTION
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:31a
Pick ONE of the following suggestions below, to act on in the month of January as a tangible expression of God’s love to your neighbor, and display faith in action:
- Give. Give a warm coffee or pair of socks, and a $5 bill to a homeless woman in your neighborhood. (The homeless population are vulnerable to sex trafficking. You could be helping a victim, unaware.)
- Google. Search anti-trafficking safe houses in your area and call them. Ask if they need mentors, toiletry donations, crochet hats or a service you can offer.
- Get aware. Have a party and show the Traffick DVD or another anti-trafficking DVD (Not Today, Chosen, etc.) to a friend or neighbor. Talk about what it means to you afterwards.
- Prevent. Burn off Christmas cookies and prayer walk ANY local school or shopping mall. Pray for confidence, healing and identity (“Who am I? Am I lovable?”) over children in that school.
- Help the rescuers. Write letters of appreciation to your local law enforcement, thanking them for working to find and rescue victims of sex and labor trafficking.
- Help the Lawmakers. Write letters of appreciation to your congressmen, thanking them for working to pass anti-trafficking legislation. U.S. Residents can use sharedhope.org as a tool in this.
- Talk about Porn. Do you know widespread availability and effects of porn on our culture AND on sex trafficking? Pick up John Hammer’s Book eXXXit or Every Man’s Battle (Also, Every Woman’s Battle and other resources) and read this month.
Prayer Points
As we’re in the midst of cold winter months, let’s pray specifically for trafficked victims:
- Pray for the basic needs of trafficking victims to be met.
- Pray for basic needs, such as food, shelter, and blankets, to be met for homeless/run-aways. During the cold winter months, survival sex (exchanging sex for basic needs) is more frequent.
- Continue to pray for Rescue Freedom International as they continue to rescue, restore, and empower those caught in slavery. Recently, one safe house hosted a graduation ceremony for the 53 kids who successfully completed the after school program. This month, pray that these young ones would grow up to be change-makers, trusting their faithful Father for life abundant!
