Aglow Cuba

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

Did you know that there are about 7 million Christians in Cuba? While about 60% of Cuba’s population is Catholic and only 5% belong to Protestant churches, Christians in this nation face a number of challenges including church restrictions, persecution, and hostility. However, there is a spiritual fire ablaze and burning STRONG in the island nation of Cuba!

Aglow Headquarters is thrilled to be in communication with one of Aglow’s leaders in Cuba, and our hearts are filled with joy to see the evidence of the work that the Lord is doing in their nation through Aglow.

Aglow women and men in Cuba are stoking the FIRE to keep it burning stronger and higher for the Lord!

While the Covid years presented economic and political challenges to the Aglow women and men in Cuba, the Lord continued to keep His loving hands on them and kept their group in Havana together through it all! Although much of the work these women had done stopped because of Covid, in the last year they have witnessed it rising up again; and they are excited to share with the world about the Fire of the Lord that continues to burn in their nation!

While there is only one official Aglow group in Cuba, whenever the group gathers for an event, women come from many different towns and cities to join in on what God is doing in their nation and communities! They may even have a new group starting soon! Hallelujah!

Although communication can sometimes be a challenge, Aglow women see challenges as possibilities for what the Lord will do and this is evident in the Cuban Aglow women. While there is not always the ability to meet on a regular basis, the women stay connected by sending each other prayer requests, encouragement, Bible verses, and more!

You may wonder, “How can I be praying for Aglow Cuba?” That’s a great question! While the Nation of Cuba has seen their economy get a little better after Covid, it is still very low. For example, a Doctor earns about $100 a month while a mailman earns only $7 a month. We would encourage you to be praying for an increase in their economy, for the Lord to pour His love over the Cuban people, that He would bring peace to the Aglow women and men amidst challenging circumstances, and that He would continue to fan His flame in Cuba.

“I am reminding you to fan into flame the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:6-7
