Widow’s Aglow Outreaches

Recently, Diana Portugal, Facilitator of the Widow’s Aglow, a Neighborhood Lighthouse in Clovis, CA, sent us a report to share how God is using a group of widows to reach out to others. It involves those who are members of Aglow and a few ladies who have never attended an Aglow.

We have incorporated several events like home potlucks, movies, and homeless outreaches.

The outreaches that we have done are in the encampments in the vacant fields where there are several people living in them. They live in makeshift tents with blue plastic drapes that cover the roof. Recently, we provided crockpots of hot chili beans and ordered 100 pieces of fried chicken. We gathered used clothing and New Testaments to give out to the people in the field along with the meal.

Diana said, “As I watched a woman in her 30’s walk out of her tent. She was bent over on a 45-degree angle. As she approached our table for a plate I noticed that both her eyes were bloodshot. As we served her food, I asked her if she wanted prayer. She said yes. She sat down behind the table. We bowed our heads in prayer. I commanded her body to line itself up with the Word of God. As she looked up I noticed that the whites of her eyes were clear and white. I knew that God had healed her. She stood up. Straight as if she never had anything wrong with her. She then went to each tent to beckon the people to come get prayer. It was exciting to see her healed and walking upright.

I praise God for His Mercy!! She was just like the woman at well. She went about telling everyone the Good News!!”

When you look at your Lighthouse, what untapped resources do you have amongst you? Several single moms? New widows? Grandmothers? God has placed people in your town on purpose to flow through to bring the Good News of the Kingdom to those in your community. Ask Him how He sees your group reaching out and then let us hear the creative ways He has shown you. Tell us Your Story
