The Matteson IL Mom’s Generations Group has been established and meeting for about 10 years. We praise God for all the leaders and wonderful moms who have faithfully kept this group going and making a difference in countless ways in the lives of families. Throughout the year they plan different events and gatherings for moms and their children. They bring the community together to be a blessing to families in impactful ways. One of their annual events is a backpack drive, supplying children with school supplies. You can read about the great success they had this year below. We celebrate with them all that God has done and the good things He has ahead for them. Pray a blessing over these moms and children as they start a new school year!
The Aglow Moms had their Annual Back to School Event on August 15th. It was a success. They were able to give out book bags and school supplies to over 150 children and young people.
Our event sponsors and partners included Gerald Toyota & Honda Matteson, Guaranteed Rate Mortgage Company, American Family Insurance Lynwood, Great Lakes Credit Union in Country Club Hills, Hawkinson Nissan Matteson, Chick Fil A Homewood, Abbotts Printing South Holland, First American Bank Matteson, Allstate Matteson, Lynwood Tire & Auto, Lynwood.
Guaranteed Rate Mortgage Company donated 100 book bags with supplies. Representatives from the company were also at the event.
One of our sponsors took care of the boys' haircuts at Markee Styles in Crestwood. We Kutz Up Beauty Bar in Matteson took care of the hairdos for the little girls.
On this past weekend, the Aglow Moms were chosen to be vendors at the Great Lakes Credit Union "Summer Celebration" Community Appreciation Event. The moms had fun telling people about Aglow and what the Aglow Moms do. They were able to talk to 29 people who signed up either as single moms or as volunteers to help out with any of the moms' upcoming events. Everyone had fun, they were able to meet a lot of interesting people, and a lot of people learned about Aglow. The credit union also gave out free tacos, jerk chicken, popcorn, ice cream and ice water. There were also games and other activities.
