Prayer

I pray that 2017 is a year of great fruitfulness for you personally and for the ministry of Aglow International in your nation.  I am finding that as the challenges of this world seem to increase, my experience of the goodness of God also increases. I hope this is true for you, too.

As Jane and I have talked about situations in the world, our hearts are stirred to pray more than ever before.  She senses an urgency to call all of our nations to increased prayer for our governments, the issues within our nations and the many challenging situations we see throughout the world.

Jane and I have worked together for an intentional prayer strategy that we believe will bring positive change in the nations of the world, America included. This is a three-part strategy that will unite us in prayer for nations for the year of 2017.

Here are the three parts:

1. Critical Mass Prayer Calls – These are monthly phone calls when we invite everyone who can participate to join in unified prayer for nations. It may be difficult to be part of these calls due to time zone differences and different phone systems. These calls are also in English.  If it is too difficult for you and the men and women of Aglow in your nation to participate in these calls, I am asking you to set aside that one day a month for special prayer for your own nation and for other nations.  This will be the 4th Thursday of every month.
2. A brief monthly email bulletin will be sent from our Aglow International headquarters office with current prayer points for nations.  This email bulletin is called “Global Prayer Assignment 2017”. We will make every effort to keep this brief so it will be easily translated as needed. This is different from the Global Prayer Target which comes at the beginning of each month.
3. Prayer for your own nation – Would you, as National Leaders and Prayer Coordinators, prepare a few prayer points for the intercessors in your nation to pray about each month? The purpose is to pray for your own nation – to pray for your government leaders, the economy, jobs, farming, industry, the relationship of your nation with Israel, and spiritual harvest.  It would be wonderful if you would email those prayer points to me. I want to pray with you for your nation. I will also invite others to pray for current difficult situations in your nation.  I will also use your prayer points to update the prayer map at aglowglobalprayer.org. 

You are familiar with this scripture: “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:17). God has already made provision to release redemption and healing throughout our nations.  Let us intentionally seek His face this year and receive this glorious provision on behalf of our nations. I am praying that we will see a noticeable change towards righteousness as we pray this year.
