Aglow Mojave West Anti-Human Trafficking Training

On January 3rd & 4th Aglow Mojave West Area together with the California Department of Children Services hosted the Nola Brantley Speaks course CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) 102. The two day training was a wonderful outreach to the area providing training and resources to county agencies such as the Probation Department, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health, Children and Family Services, Foster Care Services, local Pastors, ministry leaders, and many more.

The training equipped those who attended with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to better engage youth at risk of becoming involved in CSEC, and helped them learn strategies for helping CSEC survivors see themselves as more than a survivor. The two day training was presented by Nicole Klasey, Psy.D., and Monique Calderon, a survivor.

Nellie LaBouef, Aglow Mojave West Area Team President, writes, “I am hoping that this awesome class could be an Aglow event that others would feel the need to implement. It was an incredible 2-days where everyone gained greater understanding of the extent of Anti-Human Trafficking. We are considering another class in the near future, as everyone felt they wanted to attend another and tell others to come also. This was also an outreach for us as Aglow. We were able to mingle and befriend many believers and non-believers alike.”
