Cindy Freshour, VP Ministry Development, of Fairborn, OH Lighthouse recently sent in a praise report. Even though this year has been full of challenges, Aglow groups around the world have continued to find ways to be the gift God has sent to their community.
Cindy said, “The Lord continues to define our purpose to others – LOVE! Our outreach at Fairborn Aglow is to the Parenting Network. At the Parenting Network, young moms, dads, and babies are the focus. Our Lighthouse brings gifts and donations to help them with diapers and baby supplies, as well as needs for the parents like toiletries and feminine products.”
The Fairborn Lighthouse loves to give special gifts at Mother’s Day and Christmas. Even though it wasn’t possible to meet in person much of the year, the team kept everything moving forward by meeting through Zoom.
When contacting the Director at the Parenting Network, it was mentioned that the moms would appreciate a pampering product for Mother’s Day. The team found a great sale on Bath and Body lotions and loaded up! The moms were so encouraged with this small gift!
For Christmas, Fairborn Lighthouse is giving a journal to each mom with a verse from Philippians: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” For the kids, a special coloring book with the story of Jesus’ birth will be given to each one.
Cindy said, “Jesus is in the details of how we show His love and care to others. Be encouraged, the Lord can move mightily through small gestures of love!”
