Alaska
Aglow women set up a water station at every county and state fair providing cold water, a changing station for moms and babies and a resting spot. It has been very successful with the gospel being shared and friendships being built. The state fairgrounds managers have been so pleased with the response, the space is donated to the Aglow women.
Arizona
Tucson Lighthouse has had many answers to prayer. A lady with brain cancer was healed before the surgery. Another lady had a 10 pound tumor on her spleen. When it was removed, it was not cancerous. A lady who was expecting had liver poisoning and her 7 month baby was delivered by c-section. Both are fine. A man had cancer which had metastasized and he was healed.
California
Ontario Lighthouse provides for the homeless in their community by working with a local Church to provide a place for warm showers and homemade soup. They also help to distribute food and clothing.
Oroville Lighthouse works with other groups in their city to reach out to the inmates in the Butte County jail. For Christmas they provided decorated bags that were filled with donated items to each inmate. There was a time of singing that broke through the hardest of hearts.
Idaho
Mountain Home Lighthouse women are gathering flowers from their yards and making corsages for Mother’s Day and will distribute the corsages at local grocery stores. They will tell the women that “Jesus loves you” and “how can we pray for you”.
Lewiston Day Lighthouse and Clarkston Evening Lighthouse have been acknowledged by the Asotin County Youth Board for impacting the lives of youth. For 12 years Aglow has jointly sponsored a holiday dinner for the students, staff, faculty of the alternative high school. They also support the pregnancy care center and they have an annual picnic where school supplies are collected and donated to the YWCA.
Oklahoma
Okmulgee Lighthouse delivers Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. They donated clothing to the homeless shelter. They have held a mother/daughter dinner.
Sapulpa Lighthouse created a float for the Christmas parade that displayed a lighthouse with the caption, ‘Bringing the Light of Jesus to the World.’
Tahlequah Lighthouse gave ‘Angels for Christmas’ to the residents at one of the local nursing homes where they minister often. They gather gifts to give to Hope House and the Help in Crisis Minstry.
Tulsa Lighthouse women are women who are active in prison ministry. They have collected over 55 bears and attached a scripture to them for children in crisis situations. They helped raise funds for a local Glory House to purchase a van.
Vinita Lighthouse painted and supplied bedding for a room at the Miami Women’s Crisis Center. They have started a Teen Aglow Bible Study.
Sallisaw Lighthouse had an outreach in the park with a puppet show, hotdogs, funnel cakes and face painting. Three were saved! They collect food to go in Thanksgiving baskets. They give Angel Tree gifts for Christmas.
Oregon
Salem Intercultural Lighthouse meets every 3rd Thursday. They have women from 20 different countries who have attended. The meetings are in English and Spanish with Russian and Vietnamese translation as needed. Each meeting has a different cultural focus with foods from that country. One lady from Vietnam doesn’t speak English and she begs her daughter to bring her even if she doesn’t understand because she feels the love that comes from the women.
North Carolina
Winston Salem Lighthouse has a “Tupperware” type party in the homes of different ladies to introduce new women to Aglow’s ministry. It has been well received and has proven to be a non-threatening way to reach new women. They have taken this opportunity to show Jane Hansen’s 2004 DVD conference message and plan on setting up showings for local pastors.
Texas
San Antonio Day Lighthouse had a good report from one of the women who had prayed for her niece. The young girl was healed from Von Willebond’s disease, which is a bleeding disorder.
Washington
Spokane Lighthouse women provide for the local Crisis Pregnancy Center by challenging each woman to bring one item for either the mom or the baby.
Puyallup Lighthouse gathers food to help feed the homeless. They purchase Bibles for women who are in rehabilitation. They have prayed over and stuffed absentee ballots for a fund raiser, stuffing 35 thousand ballots in 4 hours!
