A Message from the US Field Office

Message From Linda
Sometimes God just likes to surprise us! We had a God surprise just last week when opening the mail and receiving a substantial donation from a former leader. She had served in Aglow for many years and was much loved. At some point over 20 years ago, she felt the Lord leading her to start her own ministry so she left Aglow to do so. Her ministry was successful and she was blessed. Her note said that God had impressed upon her heart to give a “Thank Offering” to Aglow. He simply reminded her of where she had started. She remembered and was grateful for all she had learned in Aglow and she followed through in obedience. In so doing she blessed Aglow.
I love that story! It reminded me of my own journey. I have spent 48 years in this ministry. I started out as prayer chairmen in a Lighthouse and today I serve at Aglow Headquarters. Though I was never called to go out and start my own ministry, I was invited to join someone else’s, but my heart has always been Aglow. I am grateful for all the Lord has taught me through the ministry of Aglow.
I think sometimes we forget where we started, and where we came from because of the goodness of God in our lives. Sometimes it’s good to remember. . . I think I’ll give a “Thank Offering” to Aglow today.

Message From Christie
Thank you so much to everyone who participated in sharing about what is happening with the nations around the world at our Saturday International Gathering in Jacksonville, FL. Hearing from Europe, the Pacific Islands, the Caribbean, Africa, and Canada was wonderful and informative. Our theme was "God Sees Us."
In addition, I also want to thank everyone who volunteered to be a part of the flag parade, especially those who ironed and organized the flags and all who participated in carrying a flag. Without you, it could not have happened. I appreciate everyone's willingness and desire to help. God Bless our volunteers!

A Harvest is on the Way
At a recent State Aglow gathering in Tonopah, Nevada, the group took the time on Saturday morning to walk their way through three of the Fireside Chats. The first one, entitled, In Life Together, speaks to the need for awareness and involvement in situations that are abounding in our communities. Often we can say, “That isn’t touching me or mine; therefore, I will not be involved in the solution.” The truth is, God has placed us in our communities to be the Light and to bring forth His healing touch.
In the second Chat, Rivers of Living Water, those in attendance were reminded of the power of the spoken word and being aware to break negative words we may have spoken in the past over people or situations. “Negative statements and attitudes are not simply harmless musings of a pessimist. Those statements activate demons.” All need to be reminded that the words we speak carry blessings or curses. Speak wisely!
In the third chat, Go Ye into all the World, we are reminded of the Great Commission and our vital part to carry this out in our generation. We were encouraged to practice leading others to Jesus and to pray for them to be filled with Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
A harvest is on the way. How is your group preparing? We would love to hear your story! Tell Us Your Story

Making A Difference

House of Grace
Our discovery this month is once again you. You bless a different conference city organization each year through Gifts to the City. This year you blessed House of Grace, a Jacksonville, FL, charity that helps victims of sex trafficking and their families make the transition out of the sex trade industry.
House of Grace offers a transitional home and a 12-month program that includes intensive trauma and addiction healing, counseling, and recovery. House of Grace also reaches out to women in strip clubs and adult entertainment establishments to offer them the love of Jesus and opportunities to find their identity and establish a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
With 900 conference attendees, including 125 from outside of the United States, Aglow enjoyed its first flag parade since the 50th-anniversary conference in Richmond. We celebrated outstanding messages from wonderful speakers. And we also shared love and gifts with the House of Grace.
You gave:
- Gift cards and cash - $4,611
- Requested items - $3,175
- Total value - $7,786
In addition, Shannon Bergman and Trisha Barnett, representatives from the House of Grace, attended the entire conference and decided to become active in the Aglow lighthouses located in Jacksonville.
Truly, the Glory of God was and is Rising over Jacksonville, FL. Lives were changed and you, through Aglow’s Gifts to the City program, are Making a Difference—an eternal difference.
