June 2006 International Personal Stories

AFRICA

Namibia – The Gobabis Aglow is growing and maturing, and “the women are on fire” for the Lord.  In Windhoek all fellowships meet together once a month and worship with one mind and one accord in beautiful unity.  New Aglows are also being established in Wanahenda.  The leaders are establishing many new fellowships to accelerate the growth of Aglow in Namibia.   The Aglow National Assistant says, “Once again I realized that Aglow was built on holy grounds, and the fellowship of women is a chain that will not be easily penetrated by the enemy.”

Also, 50 women gave their lives to the Lord at the funeral of the husband of an Aglow sister.  Praise be to the Lord Who turns our mourning into dancing.

Burundi – God is moving in many wonderful ways through Aglow in Burundi Africa.

  • They are reaching out to the community with acts of kindness and service bringing food, juice, fruit and clothing to mental health clinic patients that no one else will visit.  Many women have joined Aglow after seeing the good works and love being shown.
  • They also hold couples meetings and teach about building a home on a firm foundation.  Many homes are being transformed and restored through these meetings.  A committee executive attended a seminar held by the president’s wife’s foundation dealing with projects for the underprivileged, AIDS patients, orphans, widows, etc.
  • In addition, a prayer meeting for Israel was organized by Aglow in conjunction with other local pastors.

One local pastor said that Aglow is being recognized in Burundi as “God’s hand on earth to bring a woman to her original destiny in the life of the church and of the nation.”  Our National Leader states that “the impact of the ministry is starting to be seen.”

MIDDLE EAST

Israel:  A new Aglow group is forming in Gush Halav.  Of course the enemy is working hard to disrupt and stop this from happening.  Please pray that it will be a good strong group and that a full board will be able to be formed.

Our Aglow leader in Jerusalem has asked for prayer for a van that she and her husband are buying.  The paperwork has been stalled since April, 2006.  They need this van in order to transport the women to meetings, etc.  This is another way the enemy is trying to stop the process.
