AFRICA

Testimony about the Aglow ministry from Africa:  At a recent meeting that International Field Director, Jervae Brooks, had with several African Aglow national leaders they expressed there is no ministry like Aglow. In Aglow denominations don't mean anything. Everyone comes together under the name of Jesus. This has spoken loudly even to governments in Africa. They see that in Aglow one doesn't fight over churches.

Zimbabwe - "Dentist Jesus" :  A village Aglow woman had a bad toothache and her face was all swollen. She went to the dentist and he said it would cost 3million Zim to pull it ($300).

She did not have that kind of money and left the dentist, walking through the streets crying and wailing loudly to Jesus to help her, to give her the money she needed to pull her tooth.

When she got home she was still wailing loudly to Jesus, and her husband told her to go to bed. She went to sleep and had a dream. She woke up afraid, and told her husband she saw a man wearing white, who came to her with a knife and put it in her mouth. Her husband told her she was still upset, so to go back to bed and sleep again.

She did, and when she woke up, her tooth was laying on the bed beside her pillow, and her pain was all gone. Jesus had come and pulled her tooth!

Zimbabwe - "Girl rose from the Dead":  A young girl died in a village. But she could not be buried because her eyes would not stay closed. The women trying to prepare her for burial had tried everything. Finally they called an Aglow woman in the village to come and try to solve their problem.

When the Aglow woman came she pulled back the cloth from the girls face and discerned not death, but a spirit of death upon her. She rebuked and cast off the spirit and the girl woke up.

The whole village saw this happen and when she woke up they ran away in fear, just leaving the girl, her mother and the Aglow woman there.

This happened 2 1/2 yrs ago and the girl is still healthy. The whole area has been touched by God.

Our Aglow leader said that they wonder how many people who were thought to be dead but were just demon possessed have been buried alive with no one to come and deliver them.

ASIA & SOUTH PACIFIC

Restricted nation:  We have just heard from our national leader that the Aglow meetings are being attended by many people of other religions.  In the past 3 months: “402 men, women, youth and children have been converted to Christianity”.

New Zealand:  We have heard from our National board about some exciting things that are happening in the local fellowships:

Christchurch Hornby:  Women are making “Seed Stones” (painting texts and pictures on stones).  One Aglow lady gave a young Korean man a stone, he asked if he could go to church with her – and gave his life to Jesus Christ!

Christchurch East:  Have an outreach project of knitting for Israel.  They also reported that a “young barmaid from a club where they meet came to the meeting”.  May the Lord touch her heart and draw her to Himself.

Manakau East Candlelight:  Has grown to the point that they need to seek a new meeting place, they have outgrown the house where they were meeting.  This is a very good “problem”.

Rangiora:  Our very first National president for Aglow in New Zealand, Rita Restall, has begun meeting with, and encouraging, a group of younger ladies.  The Bible tells us in Titus 2:4,5 that the older women are to “train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God”.  Praise God for Rita’s willingness to teach these young women.
