May 2006 International News Report

AFRICA

Namibia:  Aglow is beginning to grow at a rapid pace in this nation.  There have been four new Aglow fellowships affiliated in the past month.

Our Aglow leader says, “Aglow is accelerating and the women are on fire”.

HIV/Aids in this country is rampant.  The Aglow women are extending a moral and spiritual support to the women and children.

Rwanda: Revival is taking place in Kigali.  The newly affiliated fellowship is off to a successful beginning by setting the 2nd Friday of each month aside for an overnight prayer meeting in addition to their regular monthly meetings.  Pastor Christine Gatabazi encouraged the women with these words, “Women who do their things on their knees accomplish much”.  The March meeting focused on challenging the women to live Jesus Christ in their homes before they begin to reach out to other women in their nations with the message of Jesus.

ASIA & SOUTH PACIFIC

Hong Kong:  National president, Alice Tsoi, reported on a recent outreach trip into mainland China.  They were able to minister to 15 women and 1 man.  They had exciting meetings for two days.  Some of the feedback that was received by the national board, because of these meetings were:

Sense of love; joy in worship; set free from bitterness; received words, pictures as they practiced simple exercise on “Hearing God’s voice”; received Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues; better understanding of a wife’s role; and much encouragement.

Please pray for the believers in China.

Indonesia:  During the Memorial Day weekend there was a horrific earthquake in Java.   At last count there were over 5,000 lives lost, many homes and businesses destroyed.

Ani Santoso, our Aglow National president wrote “An Aglow team is going to the field with packages containing rice and other needs.  We’ll try to raise more funds, so we can send more teams there with help.  Help is very slow according to the news.”

Sri Lanka:  The national board has just finished conducting 8 leadership seminars for the Aglow board members.  There was an attendance of 25 or more at each of the seminars.  The topics covered were being an effective leader, walking in the spirit and how to conduct praise and worship at the fellowship meetings.

EUROPE

Holland/Germany: The first Dutch-German ALGOW-Day meeting will be held August 26th in the town of Aalten at the Dutch-German border.  The theme will be Inner Healing.

Lithuania: About 120 women and men participated in a Forgiveness and Reconciliation conference in Radviliskis, Lithuania May 5-7, 2006.  Much fruit has come from the conference within the hearts of the attendees.  Aglow is a forerunner in this area breaking through the darkness where much occult activity is taking place.  Several new Aglow groups will also be started as a result of the conference.
