Kyrgystan - Through Aglow, healing is beginning to come to men, too. While attending Aglow’s “Healing for the Soul” study for couples, one man named Joybek opened his heart and cried during the first lesson. As a result his wife, Jamilya was able to open up, too. A woman named Rosa said “It was so great to see a husband and a wife happy after a time of mutual forgiveness and reconciliation. Their relationship is starting to heal.
DRC ( Democratic Republic of the Congo)– Before coming to Aglow, Benie was an angry and moody woman, homeless and sleeping outdoors, widowed, and abandoned by her own family. A woman she worked for brought her to Aglow, but Benie continued to be involved in the occult. After being helped at the Aglow Training Center, Benie gave her life to Jesus and was delivered! Today, Benie is serving the Lord and has a job that allows her to take care of her children.
Mongolia – Sumiya, A herdswoman, heard the gospel for the first time when Aglow came to do outreach in Hongor, a small town in the Gobi Desert. Seven months later she came to the Aglow conference a new woman inside and out. Wearing a new dress, dyed hair and makeup, Sumiya said, “I feel so young on the inside and want to look young too.” Sumiya prayed during the previous winter and none of her animals died. One of her sons also has become a believer and since there is no church or fellowship nearby, Sumiya uses the Aglow Bible Studies to grow in faith.
Northern Caribbean– Stephanie was a worried, depressed, hurting mother of 5 children experiencing severe financial hardship. Her teenage son was on drugs and she was considering divorcing her husband. After visiting an Aglow meeting, Stephanie surrendered her life to Jesus and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. As she grew in faith, she was delivered and received inner healing. She now is joyful, positive and passionate about serving the Lord. She has reconciled with her husband, and both she and her husband are attending church together with the family. Stephanie has become the church secretary and soon will be getting a much needed new home.
Australia – Before coming to Aglow, Jane was badly abused by her husband, and also abused herself through alcohol, self mutilation, and suffered several drug overdoses. Since coming to Aglow meetings, and recently to the national conference, Jane been loved and cared for in a very practical way, as well as spiritually fed. She is receiving support through a “buddy system” of Aglow women, and is receiving proper psychiatric help. Additionally, the worship and messages that brought life to her at conference, continue to speak into her thru tapes. Jane is now a completely different woman.
Zimbabwe – In 1982, Emilia was separated from her husband, who consequently married another woman. In the midst of turmoil, she fell into prostitution and other behaviors of that lifestyle. An Aglow woman visited her during an outreach from their local fellowship and invited Emilia to a meeting. She gave her life to the Lord and has never been the same. Today Emilia is a local president, a powerful woman of God who prays on the mountaintop twice a week. In addition to the 14 orphans she takes care of (the children of her late brothers and sisters).
American Samoa – In order to make a living for her young children, Eseta used to transport marijuana from Western Samoa to American Samoa by ferry or airplane. Eventually, she was caught and put in jail, but was released on bail. While she was waiting for her trial, Eseta met Lise who invited her to an Aglow meeting. Eseta received Jesus and learned to pray and seek God’s face. At her trial she was found guilty of transporting illegal drugs, but did not serve any prison time. Eseta is now a strong member of Aglow and serves as a board member on a local fellowship.
