August 2006 International News Report

AMERICAS

South America: Aglow Bolivia is opening a House of Prayer to be available to brothers and sisters within Aglow and other congregations.  It will be open every Monday for all who wish to pray and cry out for needs and burdens.

ASIA & SOUTH PACIFIC

Sri Lanka:  A beautiful report was received from our national president, Sylvia Weerasinghe, regarding their recent National Conference in Colombo.  A sign displayed at the front of the auditorium read “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, Sound the alarm on His Holy Mountain”.

Women from 70 different Aglow groups carried their Aglow banners, lifting them high “like a banner across the sky - it was symbolic of Jesus being lifted high over our land”.

Ruth Collingridge and her worship team led “in refreshing times of worship.”  Speakers were Rev. Stephen Whiting, Rev. Jeanette Whiting and Pat Chen.

Australia:  Kerry-Ellen Logan, National President, sent a glowing report of their National Conference.   She said, they came back “changed women” and “the joy of it still floods our hearts”.  Terry MacAlmon was wonderful on opening night and “the presence of God was glorious”.

The speakers were excellent.  Pastor Royree Jensen “ministered powerfully on the generations, where we sit in the purpose of God and also how the Word of God makes the track for the Holy Spirit to move.”  Dr. Denis Smith, “ministered on the end times as revealed by Daniel, John and God.”  Kerry-Ellen said “we were on our feet, or our knees, in response to God.”

A special joy was the presence of Joan Morton and the former Australia National Board members.  Joan was presented with a Life Membership.  The shifting of the mantle from the former Board to the present Board was a blessing.
