Jane speaking in Caesarea with husband, Tony Hoyt
Aglow’s journeys to Israel have always been packed with prayer and purpose, so it seemed fitting that this year’s tour began at Caesarea where the first Gentile believers were baptized by the Apostle Peter at the home of Cornelius, a Roman military leader.
As 9 Aglow busses visited key sites from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea, Jane encouraged each person to be ready for “your moment” in Israel when it seems that God speaks directly to each individual.
Several memorable moments took place in 10 days. Three drummers accompanied a lively time of worship as three “Jesus boats” filled with Aglow participants tied up together in the middle of the Galilee. One day was set aside as “Compassion Day” when every bus visited at least one location where grass roots organizations were caring for refugees, orphans, and others less fortunate. For the past several years, Aglow women have brought along extra suitcases packed with toys, clothing, books, DVDs, medications, etc., to leave in Israel for distribution.
In Jerusalem, 72 Watchmen on the Wall representing 8 nations were commissioned in a ceremony at Aglow’s celebration banquet in the Renaissance Hotel. Watchmen on the Wall is a 15-month-old program Aglow adopted in order to empower believers to become assertive “ambassadors” for Israel and the Jewish people.
Aglow participated in a 12-hour day of fasting, worship and prayer created and coordinated by “The Call,” in Jerusalem’s convention center. The worldwide event was simulcast by God TV and drew an overflow on-site crowd estimated at more than 4,000.
Following are some pictures from the trip.
