Aglow Portugal prays for nation from seats of power

March 26, 2008

The Parliament Building

At the 2007 Worldwide Conference in Seattle, USA, President Jane Hansen Hoyt, asked Aglow groups to pray for their nations from places of authority.  Aglow Portugal has taken this request to heart and organized prayer at the two main places of authority in their country - the Parliament building, where laws are made and national decisions take place, and the city of Fatima, a spiritual stronghold which hosts a world famous Shrine to the Virgin Mary.

The National Board and other Aglow Portugal leaders planned their prayer at the Parliament building for Tuesday, March 25th.  During their tour of the building, they sat where the people's representatives sit, they walked the corridors and prayed the Word of God over the 1,500 people who work there.

They also prayed a special blessing on one of the Aglow leaders who also works in Parliament.  Marta Fernandes, a member of the National Board said, "We know God is going to do mighty wonders in our nation and this is just one more step towards the conquering of the land."

The team plans to pray at Fatima on April 12th.  They have prayed there before, and plan to go again and do another prayer walk.  This walk is scheduled a month before a pilgrimage consisting of thousands of people comes to the town to worship the "Queen of Heaven" instead of Jesus Christ.

The team also wants to pray at the residence of the Prime Minister.  Government work occurs at this residence where executive powers deliberate daily.

Please pray a special blessing on Aglow's work in Portugal.  Give now to support the work of Aglow worldwide.
