Aglow Britain Teams Up With Aglow Belarus to Touch Hearts

Helen Hunter giving clay model of a fetus to Dr. Svetlana VladamirIn April, a team from Aglow Britain returned to Belarus to follow up on their October outreach. They visited many of the places they had gone to previously and further established the vision and work of Aglow.  Both the Aglow Britain team, and the leaders and members of Aglow Belarus were encouraged by what the Lord has done in the many years the team from Britain has been coming.

The group was welcomed into various churches, and continues to be humbled by the favor they receive from pastors who encourage their ladies to become a part of Aglow.  After each meeting, many spoke of how they were touched, challenged or blessed by the ministry.  They also expressed how the word shared was often pertinent in the lives of individuals and groups.

The presence of God was strong throughout the trip restoring peace, hope and joy in many lives.  One woman testified that the pain in her arthritic fingers was eased.  Another testified that she was healed of emotional pain.

One highlight of the trip was the presentation of a clay, model fetus to Svetlana Vladamir, a qualified doctor in Krugloe, for use in her work speaking to teenagers about premarital relationships, and the dangers of abortion.  Svetlana had been praying to obtain a model, and the team’s gift was a wonderful answer to prayer!

Children’s Programs Established

Since their last visit, three children’s initiatives have been established in Belarus and are run by Aglow women.  Two women the team met three years ago have been running with the Aglow vision! The team was delighted that this type of outreach is growing and is meeting the needs of real people by showing them the love of Jesus in practical ways.

Bogushevsk Children’s FacilityThe Bogushevsk Children’s Facility, a center for children and adults with learning difficulties ages 3 – 35 years old, is serving 260 residents with over 100 that are bedridden!

During their trip, the British and Belarus teams joined together and held a time of activities, games and singing at the Vitebsk Children’s Home.  Workers from the facility attended, as did mothers of some of the children who had come to visit.  They also celebrated the birthday of one of the girls as the staff presented her with a gift, and the residents gathered around to wish her happy birthday.  That day, all the children were given a small gift from the Aglow team, which were received with lots of smiles and 'thank yous'.

The team also spoke at the Novo Polotsk Children’s Feeding Program, where the children were very attentive and participated in the activities.  The programs serves 16 young people aged 10-16 years, provides the children a good meal, and a place to enjoy each other’s company while building relationships in a healthy atmosphere.

Aglow Groups Growing

During this trip, a new group was established in Bogushevsk, and they saw amazing growth in the groups that were formed last year in Krugloe and Mogilev.

A member of the Aglow Britain team wrote, We give God all the glory for the work that is being accomplished through Aglow in Belarus, and we thank God for the faithful leaders who are making a difference every day in their nation.

In keeping with the new Aglow Mission Statement, the Aglow Britain and Aglow Belarus teams are joining together “cultivating a worldwide presence that creates an atmosphere of celebration, impartation, and restoration.”  Read more about Aglow’s New Vision & Mission Statements, tag line, and Core Values.
